HOW DOES THE AIR CONDITIONING WORK?. HEAT AND TEMPERATURE
The main
objective of any air conditioning system , large or small, is to ensure the psychophysical
well being of people in a specific
environment, perhaps the same one for many hours a day.
To achieve
this goal, the air conditioners must simultaneously control several factors:
temperature, humidity, air movement and quality.
The first
factor to consider is temperature. Between the human body and the surrounding environment,
there are constant heat exchanges. This is defined as the energy that stirs the
particles which make up the body temperature and provides an indication about the
strength of this movement. All bodies contain a certain amount of thermal
energy or heat that can be exploited and in part transferred. It depends on
various factors such as the mass of the body, because the bigger the body, the
greater its ability to retain energy and substance which it consists of.
Thermal energy is measured in joules or kilocalories in the international
system.
The heat
required to raise the temperature of 1kg of water by 1 degree Celsius is the
1Kcaloria.
